Capping Ceremony

St. Ambrose Institute of Health Sciences-Kagadi on Saturday 14th May, 2022 held its third annual capping ceremony and the function was held in the institute’s multipurpose hall. In this ceremony, seventy (70) female midwives and one hundred four (104) male and female nurses were crowned victorious and welcomed into the profession following their success in their PTS (Pre Trained Student) examinations.

The function was presided over by Kabahuma Violet a Psychiatrist Nursing Officer Kagadi Main Hospital. She congratulated all that had made it to the capping list and encouraged them to aim at their profession’s motto which is ‘To Love and Serve.’ She thanked the administration body headed by the executive director Rev Fr. Joseph Birungi for coming up with an initiative of starting this institution following the fact it’s the first health school in the district.

“There is no money in this profession but if you be good in the community and serve diligently, you will be blessed with that money.” She added. The institute’s deputy principal Agnes Kaahwa (Ms) congratulated all and thanked them for choosing to be nurses and midwives and encouraged them to keep the spirit of cooperation shown during the PTS examinations following the fact that they are to be doing their end of semester UNMEB examinations in a month’s time.

In the same function, the newly elected students’ leaders were sworn into power and handed over the tools of power in the holy sacrament of mass celebrated by Rev Fr. Julius Musasizi Atwooki. Immaculate Ayesiza was sworn in as the institute’s guild president and received power from Onesmus Asingwire. She promised to bridge the gap between the students and the administration.
