The department has an imaging technologist with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in medical imaging and has a six years\u2019 experience in the section.
This is part of the diagnostic section of medicine which comprises of:<\/p>

  • Ultra Sound (2D Doppler sonoscope)<\/li>
  • X-ray<\/li><\/ul>

    Ultra sound<\/p>

    It is <\/u>a 2d \u2013 Doppler, 3 probes and superficial curvilinear, endovagina \/ endorectal probes<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Investigations done<\/b> <\/span>
      • All plain X-ray investigations like Chest X-ray (CXR),\n skull, musculoskeletal, Peripheral Nervous System (PNS), lumber thoracic\n and cervical vertebrae X-ray etc.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
        • Some special radiographic investigations like\n Intravenous Pyelogram (IVP), all barium studies and Hysterosalpingogram\n (HSG).<\/span> <\/li><\/ul>
          • Obstetrics ultrasound, abdominal ultra sound, scrotal,\n breast, pelvic Ultra sound and musculoskeletal ultrasound.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

            Future Plan<\/b>\n

            The department hopes to acquire<\/span><\/p>

            • A digital X-ray with CR technology,<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
              • A CT Scan to serve the entire mid-western region of Uganda<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                • To incorporate teloradiology in our system and make use\n of the scarce radiologist in the country.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

                  The department operates 7 days from 8:00am to 5:00pm.<\/span><\/i> however a\nradiographer is always called in case of any emergency irrespective of the time\nof the day.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

                  Achievements<\/b> <\/span>
                  • So far this is the best diagnostic department in the\n greater Kibaale region thus receives a big number of referral patients\n every day.<\/span> <\/li><\/ul>
                    • In November 2018, acquired a modern Ultra sound scan\n machine sonoscope S 1:1 with all the advanced sonographic software and\n with excellent resolution.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                      • The department shifted to green sensitive film which\n has a faster speed and thus better resolution in X-ray images, and this\n reduces the dosage to patients.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                        • Our client turnover has grown from a total of\n approximately 1500 in 2016 to approximately 2400 in 2018.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
